Das illegale Geschäft mit illegalen Vervielfältigungen kennt keine nationalen Grenzen. Daher gewinnt die Einbindung der GVU in das weltweite "Antipiracy-Netzwerk" der Motion Picture Association (MPA) zunehmend an Bedeutung.

Das Headquarter Los Angeles sowie die Subheadquarter Rio de Janeiro, Singapur und Brüssel sind die Koordinationszentralen des weltweiten Netzwerks der MPA-Antipiracy-Organisationen.

Die Koordination der Maßnahmen der lokalen Antipiracy- Organisationen in den mittlerweile 36 Ländern der EMEARegion (Europe, Middle East, Africa) der MPA erfolgt durch das Subheadquarter Brüssel.

Auf nationaler Ebene unterstützen eine Vielzahl von Unternehmen und Branchenverbänden aus dem Bereich der Film- und Unterhaltungssoftwareindustrie durch Mitgliedschaft oder enge Partnerschaft die Tätigkeit der GVU.
